Kelly Stewart

Drawing is the essence of Kelly’s work. Individual layers are drawn and painted onto films and transferred to the screen so they can be overlaid together to create an image. Kelly was introduced to Morecambe Bay during her Printfest Artist in Residence in 2012 and has been drawing and painting it ever since. In the search for a broader and more subtle range of marks Kelly turned to monoprinting as an alternative to screen printing to create full colour and monotonal one off prints of coastal representations of the bay. This has led to a different way of working, away from drawing to more painterly approach with minimal line.
