~ Cumbria Printmakers ~ Started initially by a small group of artists who worked together to create an open access print studio, the group has gradually developed towards its function today. After the initial studio opened we realised, having given it time to establish, that actually it was not getting sufficient use. This was due to the large geographical area we were trying to serve meaning huge travelling times for people wishing to use it. Two of the original artists now run their own open access studios, Linden Print Studio near Carlisle and Greystoke Print Studio near Penrith. The group has grown rapidly and now functions as a support and development network for artists and a promoter of all things printmaking. We run outreach workshops in different areas of Cumbria and the North West as well as hold exhibitions, take part in print exchanges and print fairs. We always welcome new members.
