Cumbria-based Printmaker, whose intensely coloured and layered semi-abstract images evolve from extensive observational drawing. Her work is rooted in ecology and a deep awareness of the interdependence of the natural world. She uses combinations of relief, mono and intaglio printmaking to create and recreate layered prints, forming and dissolving connections across a picture plane. She is interested in making as an explorative process, testing form, line and colour intuitively, and will spend several weeks developing and refining a series of images and constructing plates, before experimenting further with the mechanics of the printing process.
