Ideas for prints start in sketchbooks, directly from observational drawing and from happy memories of holidays and childhood pastimes. Ann’s prints combine an eye for detail with an imaginative interpretation, using monoprint techniques, stencils and card-based printing plates. Each piece is Unique, usually produced in a small series exploring a particular theme or subject matter. They are printed by hand, applying pressure to the back of the card plates or by using a roller. Ann studied Illustration (Drawing and Printmaking) in North Wales, and now lives and works near Sevenoaks in Kent.
