Inspiration for my prints comes while I am walking. Here I experience big skies, majestic mountains, rolling hills and valleys, dramatic coastlines and calm seas. I enjoy exploring new landscapes which provide further inspiration for my etching. Another important aspect of my work is the transformative nature of light, either through its reflective qualities on water or its impact during dusk, dawn or moonlight. My preferred process is Copper plate etching using Ferric Chloride. I often use two plates to provide contrast and depth to my images resulting in the final print communicating my initial inspiration.
