Kelly Stewart

Kelly has worked predominantly with the screenprint process and been a member of Edinburgh Printmakers Studio for 17 years, combining drawings with mark making and handwritten text. Screenprinting offers endless possibilities with hand drawn layers that are overlaid using opaque or transparent acrylic inks. Kelly is based in Edinburgh where the architecture provides inspiration for her drawings of Victorian and Georgian architecture. More recently however it has been landscapes that have inspired her exploration of mono printing, offering more subtle tones with mark making. In particular she has enjoyed drawing and painting Morecambe Bay which can be seen at this year’s Printfest.
