Helen Peyton

Helen is founder and artist in residence of Smart Gallery, social museum and art gallery, her contemporary linocuts are dynamic and thoughtful, due to her ongoing love of objects, their stories, histories and association to our emotions.

Smart Gallery was nominated for the 2015 Turner Prize and awarded judge’s prizes at Open Up North, Abbot Hall, Kendal and the Flourish Award, West Yorkshire Print Workshop. Recent works have been exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, as well as permanent features at Leeds City Art Gallery where Helen is Artist Ambassador and Hepworth Wakefield where she is a Creative Practitioner.
