Cathy Duncan

Archaeologists, actors, hikers, ice-skaters, musicians and market traders all feature in printmaker Cathy Duncan’s lively linocuts. Cathy lives in Northumberland and takes her sketchbook wherever she goes, making quick sketches from life. These form the bases for her designs. Previous linocut series include ancient apple trees in a walled garden, coastal scenes in Scotland, a Shakespearean performance in Lancaster Castle and botanical designs. Her most recent work captures Northumbrian people and landscapes, focusing on local landmarks and those visiting and working in this beautiful county.
