Jo McChesney

Jo McChesney specialised in print after graduating from Bath Academy of Art in 1985. She travelled to Japan to study Japanese woodblock printmaking, and combines her knowledge of traditional Japanese printing techniques with a distinctly western approach to image making. Her studio is based in Leicester Print Workshop. Seasonal change in the natural world is the source of inspiration for her prints, focusing on transient moments in time. She incorporates dry point engraving with woodcut. Her latest work documents stages of a Magnolia tree, expressing the evolving growth and dormancy, as well as water reflections and seed dispersal.
