I have been fascinated by wood for many years, and its potential to tell a story. The knots, the pattern of the grain, and the shape of the tree guide my thoughts as I draw on the surface, looking for characters that might say something to us. There might be wind or water, the sound of birds, or the expression or body language of a person; all this comes together to reflect a moment in time and reflect on our experience in life.
