Annwyn Dean
Annwyn’s books are created from Collagraph prints inspired by her collection of antique textiles. She is enthusiastic about the stories that these textiles tell and feels that every page adds to the complex tale of the textile’s history. The books allow direct contact with the texture of the print and so provides a connection with the story held within the original cloth. The Collagraph printing plates are constructed from paper, fabrics and thread, reflecting her background as an embroiderer and it is this combination of techniques that gives her work its particular characteristics.
