The subjects of my work usually spring from everyday events; domestic interiors and memorable moments and places. These can start as fairly tenuous ideas. I use the printmaking processes of both stone lithography and drypoint etching, with all their serendipitous qualities, to try to capture those ideas. Much time is spent proofing images, asking ‘what will happen if I try this or change that…?’ I am gradually editing the image, considering what to keep and what to lose, all along aiming to find a poetic imagery as an equivalent of that initial experience.
