My work has a narrative that is often unsaid, creating a sense of unease, exploring atmospheric qualities, ambiguity with mystery, hinting at human presence or absence. I aim to subtly change the truth of light and darkness to amplify uncertainties. My drawings and dry point etchings have a physical urgency, the energies required to generate the compositions are retained, enlivening the work with an uneasy breath. A sailor boy sitting with teddy bears, an entrance hall with vague shapes, friendly or hostile? Printmaking is my most intuitive and preferred breadth of processes which help me refine my image making instincts.
