Joshua Miles
I am a full time landscape artist with a passion for reduction linocuts. I start my process with hunting the landscape. I am drawn to capturing the play of light moving over landscapes or found in reflexions on water. I love the qualities of light that evoke emotion. My work is influenced by the loose mark making of the impressionists and how those marks become what the human eye reads as realism and also the Japanese technique of selective rolling. I use my rollers like brushes painting on the block. All of my works are limited editions made by hand.
