As an artist I am always looking for subjects and inspiration in the natural world. Starting with direct observation , I make sketches and develop them either in the field or back in my studio. My prints are mainly linocuts printed using my 1884 Albion Press. Using linocut as a medium forces me to concentrate on the essential shapes, rather than the detail, making the finished images bold whilst retaining the essence of my chosen subject.
