I came to printmaking from a background in watercolour and brought with me a painterly approach of layering translucent colours and blending inks. I use a variety of printmaking methods but since 2020 have worked almost exclusively in reduction linoprint, which I think has been a reaction to the enforced inertia of lockdown, leaving me now wanting always to be moving on to a new challenge with no going back. Lockdown also influenced my subject matter as I began to concentrate on the impressions of my daily walk, recognising the beauty in the footpaths and suburban woodland on my doorstep.
