Jamie Barnes
I am a Cumbrian printmaker who specialises in making aquatint etchings about buildings, architecture and structures both within the landscape and on the coast. I highlight architectural details in the urban environment and celebrate manmade incursions in the rural environment. For me all printmaking comes from drawing; my favourite activity. I enjoy taking my love of line drawing and transforming it through the magic of printmaking processes. My subject interest in buildings stems from a childhood connection to architecture and drawing sparked by my Dad who worked as an architectural draftsman and building inspector in the Lake District.
