amie is a freelance curator and printmaker who principally makes images about buildings, architecture and structures within the landscape. He highlights architectural details in the urban environment and celebrates manmade incursions in the rural environment. All Jamie’s work starts with a real place which he alters, abstracts or exaggerates through a drawing. This drawing becomes his reference image. He mainly make prints using the aquatint etching technique. In these works he etches strong, controlled lines and adds texture and tone by combining a rough aquatint and leaving in many of scratches and marks which are picked up by the process.
