Annwyn Dean

Annwyn constructs books created from Collagraphic prints inspired by her collection of antique textiles. These artists’ books allow the viewer direct contact with the texture of the print and so connections are made with the maker and with the antique fabrics. These fragments have tales to tell and she feels that the book format is ideal.

The Collagraphic plates are constructed from papers with fabrics and stitch, reflecting her background as a textile artist. She is largely self taught as a printmaker and it is the combination of these techniques that she feels gives her work its particular characteristics.
