I trained at the Slade and engrave on traditional endgrain woodblocks, and sometimes resin blocks, producing limited editions on a Victorian hand press, and also book illustrations. I’m drawn to subjects such as natural forms and architecture, and I’m currently exploring the meeting of the natural with the man-made in a series of engravings of ‘Uninvited Guests’ found in a French farmhouse. 

I’m a member and past Chair of the Society of Wood Engravers, a ‘brother’ of the Art Workers’ Guild, and a founder member of the International Academic Printmaking Alliance. I exhibit extensively and have a website at
